Fast population in new colony

I always build a barracks in my first 3-4 colonies.

Make sure your tavern is 3-4 levels higher than needed in your existing towns that have a barracks.

When you start a new colony build spearmen in your built up towns (then put your wine usage in those towns at max to rebuild the population quickly).

Move the spearmen to the new colony & dismiss them as you build up your town hall, tavern, & museum.

I wasn't sure if everyone knew about this trick.
